On March 13, 2017, in Quang Ninh Provincial Youth Union, The Centre for Marinelife Conservation and Community Development (MCD) and Ha Long Association for Environmental Education and Protection held a closing ceremony of the project: “Internship and Village facilitators (IVF) – lessons learnt and sharing of best practices for Youth Engagement for Climate Change Adaptation Initiatives in world heritate site Ha Long Bay, Vietnam.

The event had the attendace of representatives from Quang Ninh Provincial Youth Union, Hoanh Bo District Youth Union, Hoanh Bo District people’s Committee, Department of Natural Resources and Environment, Quang Ninh Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Union of Science and Technology Associations Quang Ninh and Blue Lighthouse Interns.

The project has been implemented in 5 communes of Le Loi, Ky Thuong, Thong Nhat, Dong Lam, Dong Son in the area of Hoanh Bo district, Quang Ninh province. By the end of February 2017, the activities of the basic project are completed. 10 blue Lighthouse Interns has been trained, experienced and carried out 8 practical initiatives. All the initiatives were accomplished, successfully accepted and received high appreciation from local people

At the meeting, Ms. Nguyen Nhu Quynh – Project leader shared the process and results of the project implementation in Quang Ninh province. In addition, the Blue Lighthouse interns also shares their acquired experience when implementing local initiatives and their maturity when participating in the project.

nge community based adaptation program in biosphere reserves of Vietnam”; specicaly, 8 environmental protection and climate change  adaptation initiatives were  implemented in Hoanh Bo district has received a lot of positive feedback from the participants. They expressed their expectation that the project would continue to be extended to other areas in Quang Ninh.

In the framework of the event, Ms. Nguyen Thu Hue – MCD Director and Mr. Le Hung Son – Chairman of the Ha Long Association for Environmental Education and Protection also honored and awarded certificates to blue Lighthouse interns for participating in the implementation of environmental protection initiatives.
