Corporate Communications:
· Enhance and protect the organisation’s brand and reputation.
· Develop and implement communication strategies that enhance the organisation’s brand and reputation.
· Coordinate the production of publications and resources that raises awareness and meet the information needs of target groups, stakeholders and the public.
· Coordinate the production and management of online information and resources.
· Utilise social networking forums to promote MCD, its activities, mission and goals.
· Liaison with media to provide information for news stories and monitor media coverage.
· Coordinate MCD networking activities which maintain and develop relationships with target groups, stakeholders and national and international organisations.
· Manage and support events from the local to the international level.
Environmental Communications:
· Develop and coordinate the implementation of environmental-and-development-issue communication plans.
· Prepare and produce educational resources aimed at different groups, including schools, communities, local authorities, government, and businesses etc.
· Organise and facilitate environmental awareness and educational events such as presentations, dialogues, roadshows and volunteer days.
· Establish, train, supervise and support community communication groups at project sites.
· Liaison and network with contacts in different community groups, local environmental education authorities, and other relevant environmental organisations.
· Provide a voice for local coastal communities in the local, national and international arena.
· Document MCD experiences and lessons to share with target groups, stakeholders and public.
· Influence national policy and promote successful models for adoption in government legislation.
*Main activities:
· Developing brand and PR activities for the organization.
· Updating the MCD website and publishing media publications to ensure enough information of project activities and development of the organization are shared.
· Coordinating media relations.
· Supporting local community learning centres and radio programs.
· Implementing communication campaigns to raise awareness and change behaviour in targeted groups.
*Main achievements:
Building and developing MCD brand campaign 2009 - 2015:
Since MCD’s establishment in 2003, MCD has quickly developed the its organisational structure, size and project sites. The MCD board realised the importance of defining the vision, position and strategy of the organisation in the near future, roughly the next 5 to 10 years. The MCD board has also contracted with a brand consultant of the Golden Media company in order to receive professional advice and to help contribute to the development of the organisation. The coordination of this task is assigned to MCD’s Communication Department.

- The brand strategy has been built professionally and it contains guidelines for development activities with a focus on communications.
Implementing two communication campaigns: (i) Ecosystems services for poverty alleviation and (ii) Marine protected areas:
Campaign (i) implements communication activities to raise awareness at the local level and national level of the environment in Vietnam, the status and trends of the current environment, the dependence of coastal zone communities and how these communities can use them sustainably.
